American Girl Club
Would you like to be more hands-on when teaching your kids about American History? Then this club is for you!!! As the name of the club suggests, our primary resource will be the books and other materials from the American Girl series (no dolls required); however, events may also include other resources such as visiting the Arlington House at Christmas time, attending a Native American Festival, or maybe attending a Civil War ball!
The American Girl Group is sponsored by, but not limited to, Everest Academy for Alabama Homeschoolers interested in learning American History through the use of the American Girl series of books. ALL members are expected to host at least once during the year. When you sign up, be prepared to provide the month(s), September to May, in which you are interested in hosting an event. Although a hosting list will be announced by August 31, 2012, families are welcome to join anytime! If all hosting has been fulfilled, please consider offering to co-host if the scheduled host is interested.
The American Girl Club for the Birmigham area will organize events and communicate through a Facebook group.*
NEW THIS YEAR!! An American Girl Club for Huntsville area. We have created a Facebook group for this area. Please contact Briana if you are interested*. This is open to all homeschoolers, so please share with your Huntsville friends. Remember this is a volunteer family-led group, so we will have to have enough interest to get it going!!
* For security, Facebook groups are "closed", and the group administrator/coordinator, Briana, will have to approve all members.
