We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

  • The Artist Toolkit - This site demonstrates different elements of art, has an art encyclopedia, and much more. 
  • Jan Brett's "How To Draw" series free and online.  This website is by the famous author Jan Brett and offers 11 instructional videos on drawing.  There are tons of other resources here as well.  These look great! 
  • Garden of Praise -  These studies of famous paintings were written on an elementary level, but will be of interest to all ages.  They will help students become familiar with and learn to appreciate the works of famous artists. 
  • Talent Teacher -  If you think you don't have talent, just start practicing now and soon you will.

Age Range: 10 and up (although, with adult guidance younger students may enjoy aspects of these lessons as well)
This website provides free, watercolor painting lessons through online video demonstrations.  The lessons are also fully written out, so you can read the text as you watch the video.
There are free lessons for:
*Beginning - Includes basic watercolor lesson, color mixing, stretching and preparing paper, how to paint trees, a snowscape, skies, a barn, a bird, and more.
*Intermediate - Learn to paint color schemes, wet in wet, florals, a basket, and learn to create depth.

*Advanced - Discover how to create shadows in the landscape, how to paint abstract art, learn the techniques of monoprinting and advanced concepts in color.
