- Bham - The Alys Stephens Center and Make It Happen Theatre Company are proud to the Acting Out Theatre Workshop for children ages 8 -14. Acting Out Theatre Workshop is an eight-week experience that shares with children the mechanics of acting and performance. Participants will learn theatre games, improvisation, warm-up and concentration exercises, voice and diction, theatre terminology, character development, and minimal musical theatre basics through a variety of fun, yet intense classes. - Birmingham The YES (Youth Empowering Selves) Ambassadors is a theatrical youth group that delivers a socially uplifting message through drama, choreography and voice. Auditions are open to metro area teens ages 13-18. No prior theatre experiences is required, however this free program is for youth with promise, focus and discipline. Call Hollis Johnson at 320-7021 for information. Youth accepted into the program will train Monday through Friday (8:30 am until 1:00 pm) from June 2 through June 30. The theatre camp is directed by Doris Brewster. The YES Ambassadors will present at the Carver Theater 11 performances of an original production.
