Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Everest Academy offers a very special joint High School Graduation Ceremony every year.
What makes this ceremony so special?

The families of course!  We are homeschoolers, so we do not have to follow tradition.  We can do things our own way.  You can choose to present your child's diploma or request that the administrator of Everest Academy do so.  Your child can give a performance or a speech if they so choose.  We encourage the graduates to bring samples of their work, scrapbooks, pictures, experiments, creations, etc to put on display.

  • Cap & Gowns - Graduates are responsible for providing their own cap & gowns.  You can wear whatever color/style of cap & gown you choose.  Graduates are also welcome to order any adornment (such as an "Honors" stole, etc. OTHER than a Valedictorian or Salutatorian Stole).  Graduates are welcome to personalize their caps if they would like (see picture above - Rated G only please)
  • Transcripts, Diplomas, and Padded Diploma Cover will be provided.
  • All High School Graduates must complete and submit a Final Transcript Request FormGraduation Registration Form, and all fees by April 1.
  • Valedictorian/Salutatorian will be awarded on basis of ACT/SAT scores.  Student must have been enrolled with Everest Academy for one complete year, attend the ceremony, and commit to giving a speech to be eligible for this honor and registered for the graduation ceremony no later than April 1.
Fees - Payment, transcripts, and Graduation Registration Form must be postmarked by the deadline dates.
  • April 1 - $50.00 graduation fee which includes diploma and transcript
  • Please note: All fees, transcripts, and Graduation Registration Forms are due no later than April 1 and are nonrefundable after April 1. If you register and/or pay for graduation after April 1, the graduation fee is as follows: April 2 - April 15: $75.00, April 16 - April 30: $100.00, May 1 - May 15: $150.00, after May 16: $200.00 (My suggestion is to sign up and pay by April 1). No new registration will be taken after May 19. No exceptions. Please don't ask. ***April 15 is the deadline for anyone wishing to participate in the graduation slideshow. Those who register for graduation after April 15 will not be included in the slideshow. Pictures for slideshow deadline is April 22 and will be posted to closed Facebook page.  Everest has a deadline to meet for the slideshow pictures.  No exceptions will be made for accepting pictures after April 22.
  • Note on transcripts - I realize that the school year does not "officially" end until May 31. Please turn in Transcript Request Forms with projected subjects, grades, etc. We can update them as needed. We can also add in ACT scores later if they are pending.

Mail in a check, money order, or cashier's check to the address below.  Please also include the Graduation Registration Form and Transcript Request Form

Here is what one Everest Mom had to say...

I was so impressed with how well this was done. I have so many sweet memories of that day that I will always treasure. One of the few fears I had of homeschooling was that we might miss these types of activities. Once I had seen the Everest website and talked to Deb and seen what Everest had to offer I was somewhat relieved. Though I must admit that I still wondered how it would all work. I must say that this first year of "official" homeschooling has been great. We have met so many great families and had so many great activities to attend. But this graduation ceremony was the icing on the cake. I was beyond pleased. Thank you so much to Deb, Sue, Briana and all the others that worked so hard to make that one day such a blessed event. It may have been just one day but it encompassed so much more. It solidified to me that homeschooling families need not give up anything in order to do what is best for their children. I felt so happy and so blessed to be a part of such an awesome "family" as I sat at the ceremony. I wiped a few tears and fought back many more (I have a tough exterior to uphold LOL) as I saw the awards and diplomas given out. Thank you again to the many people who made this year and the graduation a wonderful bunch of memories for my family.
