Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Jr Teen Scene of Birmingham

Is your homeschooled junior teen needing social activities, but you feel s/he is just not quite old enough to hang out with the teen groups? Jr. TeenScene is here to solve your problem!

Jr Teen Scene of Birmingham is a social activity network for homeschooled children ages 11-14 in the Greater Birmingham area of Alabama.

This group is open to all homeschool families with junior teens regardless of church/cover school enrollment.

Past events have included skating & Lasertag meet-ups, a Cici's Pizza tour, $1.00 movie meet-ups, a fencing introduction, an overnight stay at the Bham Zoo, a Christmas party, and more. Can't wait to see what the new year brings!!

The Jr TeenScene of Bham (JTSB) group communicates and plans events through a closed Facebook group.

What is Jr. Teen Scene? It is a group specifically for our Alabama homeschooling jr. teens, age 11 - 14 to socialize. This group is not educational but SOCIAL.

How much does it cost?  Jr. Teen Scene is free to join.  There may be fees associated with events, but we try to keep events low cost/free.

Can younger siblings participate? Yes, for the most part unless it is something that only jr. teens can do. The point of the group is not to exclude the younger siblings but to have events where jr. teens know other jr. teens will be present.

How often does Jr. Teen Scene meet? That is completely up to the members of the group.

Please remember that the Jr. Teen Scene group is an Everest Academy sponsored group. Please review the Everest Academy Participation Policy here. Please note that drug and alcohol use at any event is prohibited.
