We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Journey South



Fall’s Journey South Has Begun!

Spring is the focus of the Journey North program, but in the fall, the "Journey South" feature helps convey the cyclical nature of the seasons. Journey South explores the interrelated aspects of seasonal change. Changes in sunlight drive all seasonal change. Plants and animals around the globe must respond. Watch how the seasons affect the web of life - and report your own schoolyard and backyard observations.

Investigation of natural events and cycles helps teachers incorporate inquiry-based teaching and learning into the curriculum all year long!  Participate in one or more of the following projects this fall:
  • Signs of Fall (Phenology)
  • Photoperiod (Mystery Class)
  • Tulip Test Gardens
  • Whooping Crane
  • Monarch Butterfly 
  • Hummingbird
