Excerpt:
I am the parent of a child who would have been labeled "special needs" had he gone to a traditional school. Instead, my husband and I homeschooled our son (now in his 20s) from pre-K through 12th grade. Aside from part-time attendance at the local university preschool, our son has never stepped foot in a formal classroom. Actually ... he did step foot in a classroom a few times when he came to visit me when I worked as a counselor in a public elementary school and he wasn't much impressed.I have put together these pages to act as a resource for those families with "special needs" kids who are considering homeschooling. I will constantly be adding to these pages - so check back periodically. I'm always on the lookout for new resources, so let me know of others that aren't listed here that will be useful for other families of special needs children. However, be advised that I will not include listings of companies/services which I feel offer few benefits for families, those which promise "cures" or those which espouse a specific belief or religion.
