My name is Katie Marie Perkins. I am 16 years old, and I am in the 11th grade. I've been homeschooling since the third grade. I love homeschooling. I like how I can take my time to learn something if I need to, but mostly I enjoy the fact that I can move on with my studies if I want to, and I can study the things I want to. I love to go camping, fishing, hunting and hiking. I love martial arts. I love animals, and at one point I wanted to be an Animal Cop, but I have changed my mind. Now, I want to be a teacher. I love learning, and I would love to teach children. Also, one of the biggest reasons I love homeschooling is I dont have to be around bad influences, and I would love to be a teacher so that I could be a good influence on the childern. My favorite subjects are art, math and home economics. Some of my hobbies include drawing and painting pictures, collecting knives, playing guitar and whittling. I attend World Outreach Center in Oneonta, and I am a member of Blount County Teen Scene which allows me the opportunity to meet many awesome people. I feel I have a stronger relationship with God because I don’t have the daily struggles with all the drama and distractions that most public school teenagers have to deal with.
