My name is Jakob Icimsoy.  I am 9 years old.  I am a swimmer on the Swim Birmingham YMCA Swim Team at the Vestavia branch.

My favorite stroke is Butterfly.  I usually swim in the pool about 6 hours a week.  I compete in swim meets to improve my own times.  I am working on getting Southeastern Qualifying Times so I can go to a big meet in Nashville with some of the best swimmers in the southeast.  My coach, Chaz Carter, is great because he teaches me about discipline, integrity and excellence.  Someday I am going to swim the English Channel from England to France.  Being on the swim team will help me achieve this dream.  There are two other kids on my swim team from Everest Academy: Georgia and Maggie.  Swimming is fun and you should join my team!
