Everest Academy is sponsored by Everest Family Ministry in the Birmingham Metro Area. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Bham Zoo Teaching Position

Birmingham Zoo
Hi Everyone,

We have two part-time teaching positions available within the education department that we hope to fill immediately, and part-time summer camp teaching positions that we started interviewing for starting as of this week. If  you are interested, or you know of anyone who might be interested, please visit http://www.birminghamzoo.com/employment/ for more information on the positions and instructions on how to apply.

FYI - The summer camp position descriptions may not be posted on the Zoo's website until next week.

Here is just a bit about each position:
·         The education teacher position will deal mostly with our informal education classes that have our 6 month to 5 years of age group and our homeschoolers that range from 1-9 grade (and 10-12 grade oncewe are back to full staff).
·         The zooschool position deals strictly with 7th graders in a more traditional classroom setting (although we still utilize what the Zoo has to offer). We are looking for someone who would feel comfortable teaching the science portion of the class. They do not have to have a science background.
·         The summer camp teaching positions are for full-day and half-day camps. You can find more information on our summer camps athttp://www.birminghamzoo.com/education/summer-camps/ If you are interested, please send your cover letter, resume, and Birmingham Zoo employment application to bkutsch@birminghamzoo.com You can download an employment application athttp://www.birminghamzoo.com/employment/

Thank you,
