The Alabama Department of Archives and History has shared a free download of the 23 page booklet about Alabama history called "Becoming Alabama" for children. It's full of educational, fun activities on the Creek War, the Civil War, and the Civil Rights Movement. Go here to check it out.

The book is packed with games, fact, tips, links and more to help you and your child learn more about Alabama. 

This is a perfect addition to a home school curriculum or for a supplemental lesson for your child who's attending school.
