Everest Academy is sponsored by Everest Family Ministry in the Birmingham Metro Area. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Hello. My name is Amy Mosley and I am the creator of the FaceBook page Huntsville HUGS. We have been collecting activity type toys and now school supplies to fill shoe boxes with and distribute to North AL kids affected by the April tornadoes. We have reached about 850 boxes so far and hoping to reach 1,000. While on this journey we met a family in Rainsville and I absolutely fell in love with this family if 7, Mom, Dad and 5 kids. When we met Angela and her kids we had shoe boxes for each kid but we also suprised them with and Xbox system and lots of extras! When I took the photo of the family she wanted me to email it to her because they didnt have ANY photos anymore! This broke my heart and brought me to tears! I knew we had to help this family all we could. All we were told about the family was that they had lost everything. We soon learned they were in the construction business and couldn't even start to rebuild their selves or work for income rebuilding others because as all their tools were gone too. They did have insurance but as we all know that never covers enough. We have been in touch with her since then but it was not until a few days ago I stumbled upon this article and learned their story of survival. Its pretty AMAZING! . This is the Gilberts story.!!

Angela homeschools her children and she lost her complete classroom. She is looking for Abeka as her first choice, but at this point...almost anything will do! She needs first grade, third grade and sixth grade... but also (second grade and fifth grade... so, she can sort of go over what we were doing at the end of the year... review and such... don't want to miss anything.. and want to help the kids as much as I can!). I would greatly appreciate any materials that you would be able to donate to this family! And please share this story with any others in the Home Schooling community and help us rebuild Angela's classroom!

Thank you for your time!
