Eagle Awareness 2012
Lake Guntersville State Park invites you to participate in an Eagle Awarenessweekend to learn about the majestic bald eagle. The event takes place every weekend in January and the first two weekends in February.
The bald eagle is a regular visitor and attraction to Lake Guntersville and the Tennessee Valley. They usually begin to arrive in November and spend the winter months in and around the park, soaring in the skies, fishing the reservoir and roosting in the tall pines along the mountain tops.
The weekends include an orientation and social on Friday night, field trips on Saturday and Sunday, with special guest speakers on Saturday. Participants may also choose to take a tour of nearby Cathedral Caverns. Lodging packages are available. Call 1-800-548-4553 for details.
