Spring is rapidly approaching....which means BEEF U, DAIRY U and Dairy Goat U are just around the corner!
BEEF U is set for Saturday, April 14, 2011. On-line registration can be found at:
Cost is still $10/person which includes lunch and a tshirt. You can pay with credit card or check. Registration deadline is April 6th - but do not delay in signing up!
This year we have created additional hands-on modules to help the kids learn live animal and carcass terminology. The kids will also play a cow-chow game and work on cow-biotic and WOW that COW. The youngest of the kids will make sausage, the middle ages will make steak nuggets and the older kids will do Iron Chef. It will be a full day (till 3:30 pm) of learning and doing about our great beef industry. Everyone will work with live cattle, carcasses and create a beef food product!
Dairy Goat U will be held the next weekend - April 21, 2012 in Elmore County. The number of participants is limited (less than 50) for Dairy Goat U. DAIRY U will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 again at the Stanley P Wilson Beef Unit. For more information on Dairy Goat U or DAIRY U,
contact Boyd Brady at bradybo@auburn.edu or 334-844-1562.
Please pass the word! Hope to see you all very soon!
