Forty-six composers from across the United States will be in Huntsville this weekend for the UAHuntsville New Music Festival 2012.
The Festival will include six Composer Concerts in the UAH Roberts Recital Hall between Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon. Additionally, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra will program one piece from the New Music Festival on their Saturday evening concert, along with Mozart and Brahms.
The visiting composers come from as far as Oregon and Maine, plus dozens of other locations in between. Many are university professors, some are students, and some are full-time composers without educational affiliation.
Each composer will have the opportunity to introduce his or her music before it is performed, and will gladly answer questions after the concerts.
All of the Composer Concerts at UAH are open to the public with free admission. Ticket information for the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra concert is available at http://www.hso.org/.
