Everest Academy is sponsored by Everest Family Ministry in the Birmingham Metro Area. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

How eTAP is different from other programs. eTAP provides:
  • comprehensive program that includes access to all subjects and grades
  • at affordable cost of $39 per month that includes use for all your children
  • success for all learning styles by providing variety of learning resources including free videos. We are open source and connect with the free internet learning resources. Each student may advance at their own learning speed.

How to use our Self administered program In the first 3 grades we have worksheets that need to be printed and completed. Starting with the 4 th grade, we have a pretest, practice, and post test for each part of instruction which is about 3-4 pages. The student starts with the pretest to see what he knows and needs to learn. The pretest may be used as a placement test. If the students gets all the answers correct, they can skip the instruction and proceed to the next unit of lesson.
Usually they get the answers to pretest wrong and proceed to the instruction and watch the videos. At the end of the instruction page they take the practice test. If they get any answerer wrong they review the instruction to find the corrects answer.
Next they take the post test and print it out and place it in a 3 ring binder as a portfolio record of the work they have done.
The parent needs to monitor the progress of the students. Most students need little supervision as our comprehensive program answers the questions they may have.

Help during the use of eTAP instruction Although you can call or email eTAP any questions about the instructional program, we usually do not get questions.

Special education  We have been very successful in helping students with different learning styles because we provide a variety of resources and students can proceed at their own learning speed. Student can select the resource that best fit their learning style. The instructional videos are especial helpful. Our instruction is designed for students success which according to research motivates students. We have found the standardized questions first and written the instruction to provide an understanding of basics and answers to questions. This system maximizes the opportunity for student success similar to popular video games.

Elementary School  The first 3 grades have worksheets that need to be printed and the student completes on paper. They need to learn how to write their numbers and letters. From the 4th grade the questions are provided on line with immediate self checking for correct answers.  All the completed worksheets and post tests are saved in 3 ring binger as portfolio record of the work completed. You can show this work to school people if they question the work done by student at each grade level.

High School  All the high school subjects are provided. The student can select the sequence to take the subjects in Math and Science. Questions are provided on line with immediate self checking for correct answers.  All the completed post tests are saved in 3 ring binger as portfolio record of the work completed. You can show this work to school people if they question the work done by student for each subject.
We are working on a test reporting system that will allow us to give you a transcript and HS diploma.

GED after you have completed your high school courses you can take the GED for a fee of about $200 from the independent GED people. You can find more information by Goggling    ACE | GED Testing Service - Official Web Site for GED Testing
