I am a homeschool mom whose son is a tournament fisherman. There is currently nothing available in our area, that I am aware of, which facilitates competitive tournament fishing for homeschoolers at the high school level. I have decided to organize a fishing club that will allow our homeschooled high school students to fish competitively with the Student Angler Federation. I have attached a flyer (see below) which I hope will explain everything. Would it be possible for you to forward this flyer to your high school students? Please contact me if you have any questions at all.
Thanks so much!!!!!!
COMPETITIVE HIGH SCHOOL FISHING
Announcing the formation of the Central Alabama Student Anglers! This club will be affiliated with the high school division of The Bass Federation and FLW Outdoors, called the Student Angler Federation or SAF. While the club will be based out of Trussville, we will be fishing different lakes throughout the state in preparation for the SAF High School State Championship. The winners of the Alabama SAF State Championship will advance to the SAF High School Conference Championship held in conjunction with a National Guard FLW College Conference Championship event. The Alabama SAF State Champions will fish against other state winners from around the Southeast with the opportunity to advance to the SAF High School National Championship held in conjunction with the National Guard FLW College National Championship. The High School Fishing National Champions will each be awarded a $5,000 scholarship to the college of their choice!
The sport of bass fishing is currently exploding in the high school arena and this is your chance to be a part of it.
