Everest Academy is sponsored by Everest Family Ministry in the Birmingham Metro Area. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Dec. 1 Deadline: Lego launches The Motion Picture Vehicle Design Contest

Lego posted a contest open to kids ages 7 and up through adult ages as well.  It's called LEGO THE MOTION PICTURE VEHICLE DESIGN CONTEST.

Go here to see the event listing: http://www.facebook.com/events/488218374539302/

Contestants Can Help to Build the First-Ever 3D Animated LEGO Feature Film from Warner Bros. Pictures, Win $1000 and a Chance to See Creations on the Big Screen!!!

Contestants will be invited to compete in three separate age groups: 7 to 12, 13 to 17, and over 18. Using only LEGO bricks, and excluding third-party branded content or figurines, the challenge is to build a custom vehicle—whether a car, plane, boat, rocket ship or any kind of transportation imaginable—while making it look as if it were re-purposed from parts of something else, such as a castle or a taco stand.

Winners will be selected for creativity and originality by the filmmakers of the new LEGO movie. In addition to a first place prize of $1000 in each age category, the top designs will also be considered for a spot in the movie, which is currently in production and scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on February 28, 2014.
