Melissa Pritchett is a homeschool momma that has graduated her kiddos! She is willing to teach an art class at the church (*TBA, probably Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Gardendale), if possible, 2 fridays a month. I'm pasting her e-mail so that you can see exactly what she says. As of now, the class would be Friday at 1, starting the Friday after labor day. It would run 2 Fridays on, 2 Fridays off (*Ages 6 and up).
She is willing to offer a family discount of half off for each student after the first one. The cost will be $12 per class. There is also a limit of 10 to the class, but she is willing to split class times if there is a need. Or, if you don't mind not having as much one on one, and the class had more than 20 students, she'd drop the cost to $8 per student, with the same family discount.
I would need to have a confirmation/commitment of people doing this class by Labor Day since class would start that same week!

Here is what she wrote in her e-mail:
”Art Class 2012-2013
Hi, I'm Melissa Pritchett. I took private art lessons in junior high school, started out as a visual art major in college, and have a degree in Interior Design from Auburn. While home schooling my three children, I started teaching them art lessons. Their cousins joined us, then a few others, and as a result, I've been teaching art lessons to children and their parents for about ten years now.
As a result of this class, I want you to realize that anyone can learn to draw and paint, to recognize the value of these skills, and to have things you can take home with you to enjoy or give as gifts. Along the way, you will find that we incorporate vocabulary, art history, nature study and even math into these lessons!
Classes will begin September 7, at one o'clock, at $12 per lesson.

Our first semester schedule should run as follows:
September 7
