Everest Academy is sponsored by Everest Family Ministry in the Birmingham Metro Area. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

The Winfield Mule Day Parade is quickly approaching and a few of the homeschoolers in the Marion County area are interested in entering a float for the parade.  There would be several cover schools represented and it would be an excellent opportunity to make the public more aware of homeschooling as a possibility,  and also show how our children are so well behaved!  All homeschoolers are welcome to be a part of the float.

The Mule Day Parade will take place on Saturday, September 22.  Line up for the parade will be at 9:00 A.M. that morning, at the Winfield City Elementary School.   The theme for our float will be PATRIOTIC, with complete details pending ideas from participants.  We will work on the float on Thursday, September 20th and Friday, 21st.  Further details on location in which we will complete the float will be announced soon.  Please forward any ideas you may have for the float!

Each float participant will need to wear a red, white, or navy blue shirt and jeans or shorts and bring their own candy to throw.  Clothing should be respectful and modest, as I know all homeschoolers are going to dress anyway!

Please message or call me as soon as possible if you are interested in being a part of the float project.  It will be lots of fun!
