We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Wiregrass Homeschool Nature Study Club


Come experience hands-on nature study at Landmark Park in Dothan, AL. Small groups of students will explore their own square of native forrest as we observe, record, and learn about the flora and fauna in our own backyards. You are welcome to bring hand lenses, cameras and sketch books to record your findings. After the nature study class we will meet on the playground for lunch and play, so be sure to bring a lunch.

Date:  Wednesday, Sept 26
Time:  9:30-11:00 for the Nature Study Club
          Arrive 9:15am at gazebo / optional lunch and playground time follows
Location:  Landmark Park
                 Hwy 431, Dothan, AL
Grades:  K-12 for the Nature Study Club, supervised younger siblings welcome
Cost: K-12 students—$5.00; adults—$2.50 (no charge for younger siblings below K)
