Interested in a career in
Firefighting and Emergency Medical Service? We would like to invite you to be a part of our Exploring
program for young people who share your interest. Exploring will give you a hands-on, behind-the-scenes
look at the exciting career possibilities in Fire Service and EMS.
Exploring is open to young
men and women ages 15-20. In Shelby
County, we are fortunate to have several Fire Departments who sponsor Explorer
Posts for young people who share this interest.
They will be joining together to host a First Nighter on Tuesday, October 9th, to
share information on their Exploring programs.
The First Nighter will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Annex of Pelham First
Baptist Church, located directly across Highway 31 from Pelham First Baptist
Church (located at 2867 Pelham Parkway 35124).
At this meeting, you will
hear more about the Fire & Emergency Service Exploring Program, and be
given the chance to join a department in your area. The Explorer Posts from the Chelsea Fire
Department, Helena Fire Department, North Shelby Fire Department, and Pelham
Fire Departments will be there. Parents
are welcome to attend, and the cost to join Exploring is only $15 (some departments
will have an activity fee on top of the registration fee – they will be able to
share this with you at the First Nighter).
If you have any questions,
please feel free to e-mail me at wcurtis@bsamail.org.
