Host an exchange student! My name is Brandy Dahlen. I am a local homeschooling parent, and I have been actively involved with exchange students for the past 7 years. Opening your home to a student is a fun and rewarding experience. Your children will be exposed to a new culture in a way that is unmatched in books. And it's tons of fun! A good host family can look like many things-teenagers, younger kids, no kids-just willing to include the student and treat them like part of the family. Your student will live with you for a semester or an academic year. They can share a room, as long as they have their own bed, and they will attend your local high school. All students come with their own spending money and insurance.
