Ruth Williams is coordinating a two-field-trip package: Chinese New Year tour & activity and Black History Month tour & activity. This will be appropriate for 3rd grade through 12th grade students.
Dates: Chinese New Year ~ Thursday, January 31
Black History Month ~ Thursday, February 28
Times: both events are 1:00-3:00pm (arrive 12:40pm)

January 31st event
Celebrate Chinese New Year by touring the Asian Gallery followed by an Asian Brush Painting art activity.
Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays and is a celebration for forgetting all grudges and wishing peace and happiness for everyone.
February 28th event
Celebrate Black History Month by touring the Ugly Jugs exhibition and the African Gallery followed by an art activity.
The term “face jug” refers to an African-American pottery type created in the second half of the 19th century, in the midst of slavery, in the Edgefield District of South Carolina.
