I wanted you to know about the exciting opportunities we have for your students for National Engineers Week, February 17th-23rd. I have highlighted the events happening on Wednesday the 20th because I felt they might best align with your schedules and needs. We are not expecting a large crowd of school groups on this day so each professor/college student would have more time to interact with your students, but of course you are welcome to come to any of the events. They are included with the price of admission, which is FREE if you are a member!
Big Machines Day

Get your motors running and head over to McWane Science Center for a truckload of fun. Spend a constructive day getting up close and personal with some big machines including backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, loaders, dozers and cranes! Learn the science of simple machines and participate in fun building programs throughout the day!

University of Alabama Rocket Girls

The Rocket Girls will be leading aerospace engineering themed activities that will be engaging, fun and educational. The Rocket Girls are an all women’s rocket group, preparing to compete in NASA’s University Student Launch Initiative.

Join UAB professors and students in a variety of engineering activities and demonstrations. Learn why they became engineers, what opportunities are available to future engineers or just come and see what types of engineering marvels are going on in the heart Birmingham. From concrete canoes to joint implants to 3D modeling, engineers do it all!
