Did you know that every week 50 children will be backed over and struck by a vehicle, and 2 of those children will die? Did you know that backover accidents are the leading cause of traffic accidental fatalities among children? Nathan Dahlen, a local homeschooler, is holding a Safety Awareness Demonstration at the Pelham YMCA on March 16th from 9-12, in memory of his sister Abigail, and as part of his Eagle Scout project. This event is free and will be a great opportunity to learn more about vehicle safety, including blind zones and other dangers children face in and around vehicles. All drivers, and especially new drivers, can benefit greatly from the visual demonstration. Candy, balloons, and games for the kids! Come by and support Nathan as he works to educate the community.
