Everest Academy is sponsored by Everest Family Ministry in the Birmingham Metro Area. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

May 16, Montgomery: Macbeth

I'm putting together a group to go see Macbeth at the ASF in May. I'm in Auburn, but anyone can be part of our group, we'll just meet up there or nearby before the performance so we can go in together. Here's the info:
********************
May 16th, starting at 10:00. According to the form, the tickets are $18 per
student and $20 per chaperone. ($19 for a non-Alabama student) We can have one free chaperone per 15 paid students, and I'd be willing to let that go to someone who's tight on money, if we get enough students to earn that.

The site says that a purchase order must be sent in within two weeks of submitting the registration form, and full payment has to be sent in by 3 weeks before the performance, so I'll put a payment day (to me) of April 16th to be sure they all get in on time. They do NOT offer refunds, so if something comes up it will be on you to get someone to pay to take your place, if you can.

Macbeth is recommended for 9th grade and up, but of course you all know your own children. You can look at their website, and download a study guide here:

This event is being organized by Melanie Ellis, and Everest mom, but is not an Everest official event.  Please contact Melanie directly for more information at emeleel@gmail.com .
