Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

End of May, Pinson: End of the Year Picnic & Swim!!!

2014 DATE TBA

Wow! It's time to celebrate all things "summer"!!! Let's celebrate together at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. This nature preserve offers a beautiful area to picnic, swim, and hiking trails.   There is a very shallow area for the littles to play in, plenty of area to just splash around, and an AWESOME natural water slide to slide down.  Don't forget to bring floats for the water slide!!!

Buy/Sell/Trade - Bring your gently-used curriculum, clothes, books, toys etc. that would benefit other families.  We will have a Freecycle area set up.  If you are selling or trading, please DO NOT put your for sale/trade items near the Freecycle area.  Please take any of your left over items home with you when you leave.

Things to bring:
  • picnic lunch and drinks for your family
  • chairs
  • sunscreen
  • floats
  • socks*
  • Freecycle items
  • Friends
  • Please note that the rocks at Turkey Creek are very slippery.  The best thing I have found to prevent falls is wearing socks.  The socks work MUCH, much better than water shoes.  Don't say I didn't warn you!
