Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

July 19 Deadline: Looking for Teen Civil Rights Reporters

IQ Learning Network
ALABAMA PUBLIC TELEVISION
PROUDLY PRESENTS
PROJECT C: LESSONS FROM THE AMERICAN CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT
Lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement will be explored in a 3-part webcast hosted by student reporters beginning this fall. This web-interactive electronic field trip, featuring Alabama Civil Rights events, will focus on teaching citizenship and civic engagement.

Do you have a student who would like to interview scholars, activists, journalists and historians while visiting many of the historic civil rights sites in Alabama? Our student reporters should appear to be between the ages of 16 and 18 and be articulate, energetic and engaging on camera. They will be conducting on-camera interviews, stand-ups and narration for pre-taped packages. It will be an amazing learning experience and career exploration opportunity!

To enable your students to audition for the student reporter jobs, submit an audition video by the DEADLINE of July 19, 2013. Click HERE for project description, benefits, eligibility and audition submission requirements and directions.

If you are ready for another exciting adventure with Alabama Public Television, submit your student audition videos NOW!! Journey with us! Participate and be a part of this memorable excursion into history!
