Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Heritage Homeschool Series

Nature Notebooks

This 3 part series will be directed to homeschool families to learn the techniques of Nature Notebooks. Each child will receive their own notebook and learn the basics of observing nature and journaling about what they see. The first class will be an introduction with time spent journaling about natural objects. They second program will be a hike around the Agriplex Heritage Center, and the third program will be a field trip to a natural area. Homeschool Mom/ Teacher Holly Quick will lead this program and share her experience with Nature Notebooks in her family. We will focus on John James Audubon the first week in conjunction with the free Audubon exhibit at the Evelyn Burrow Museum at Wallace State College in September.

Wednesday, October 9, 9:00-11:00 Field Trip
