Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Oct. & Dec. Huntsville Space & Rocket Center: Homeschool Opportunities

Join the U.S. Space and Rocket Center® during the 2013-2014
school year for our fall and winter Homeschool programs!

Excite your student with a learning environment found nowhere else on earth that not only covers the foundation of knowledge, but promotes teamwork and leadership development.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center Homeschool Day is October 1, 2013. Join us for an Ultimate Field Trip that includes the exhibit Black Holes: Space Warps & Time Twists, a hands-on children’s workshop, spaceflight simulators, lunch and a IMAX® or digital movie. Parents can take a FREE Behind the Scenes tour of Space Camp® and participate in teacher workshops that preview our Homeschool Series courses.

The five-week Homeschool Series is back this fall on Thursdays with two courses offered each day. The fall series runs October 10, 2013, through November 7, 2013, with thematic focus on Space Exploration: History & Technology and Robotics: Engineering & Programming. The winter series runs January 2, 2014, through January 30, 2014, with thematic focus on Astronomy: Mapping the Cosmos and The Physics of Simple Machines, which includes a trip through the blockbuster exhibit Da Vinci: The Genius.
For the first time, a dedicated Homeschool Week at Space Camp is December 9-13, 2013! Students in grades 4-8 attend Space Camp for a week of fun, interactive learning with other homeschooled teammates. Trainees conduct a simulated shuttle mission, build and launch a rocket, and learn the history of spaceflight. This program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is an experience they won’t forget!
