Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Our programs are hands-on, experiential learning programs for the whole family. Through environmental education, we aim to inspire youth with a love for learning by using the outdoors as a “classroom without walls” filled with unique learning opportunities.

Classes are designed for 5-17 year olds (children will be grouped with other children of similar ages)
Parents accompany their children to classes
Families will stay together in dormitories or cabins and eat delicious meals in our dining halls
Class offerings include topics such as marsh ecology, orienteering, herpetology, beach ecology, pioneer studies, etc.

The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Programs serve over 30,000 students in the southeast every year and over 900,000 students since its inception in 1979. Operating year round, our five 4-H Centers provide opportunities throughout the state for high-quality day and residential educational experiences. The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program is operated by the University of Georgia, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
