Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off cover school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

DATE: Friday, Jan. 17, 2014

TIME: 10:30 to Noon (arrive by 10 to pay, park and walk in to begin on time) This video presentation lasts 45 minutes or longer. Please prepare accordingly, with snack time before and a picnic lunch for after. We will have a picnic lunch, weather permitting (bring your own.)

DETAILS: January is half price month. Students will get the full planetarium experience with the video presentation, plus be able to walk the grounds and picnic. We can choose our video and package here http://landmarkpark.com/happenings.html ...but The Little Star that Could is recommended.

COST: $3 for each student (see ages below), $1.50 for each homeschool parent (non-members) going in the planetarium. ( If they are park members the parent is free, but the student will still need to pay the $3.)

AGES: The Planetarium is not recommended for UNDER age 6 yrs due to the sound effects, dark lighting and distractions. A mom will be available, or some parents can choose to walk outside on the nature trail or play in the park while the older students are participating.

DEADLINE: I need to give them a headcount prior to our arrival. Please let me know if you are attending NO LATER THAN Thursday, Jan. 16 by noon. You can pay the day-of at the park.
