Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

April 22, Pinson: Earth Day Bash 2014

The forecast for tomorrow is currently 50% *scattered* thunderstorms. So...We will just let everyone use their own judgement on coming out for the Earth Day Bash at Turkey Creek. Hopefully, it will just move on through quickly or just miss TCNP altogether!
Sherah Hilder & Briana Moore will be there at noon and see how it looks.

Our annual Earth Day Bash celebration will be at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve this year. We will spend the day cleaning up The Falls area in preparation for summer activities. We will finish our work time by checking the tree frog habitats that we installed near The Falls last year. The habitats may need to be cleaned out and maintained for the new year.

Please bring the following: water, sunblock/bug repellent, & gloves. Closed-toe shoes recommended to work in. After our clean-up time, we have the option to stay for swiming &/or hiking a trail. Don't forget swimming/hiking gear if you plan to stay afterwards!

All homeschoolers, regardless of enrollment, and all ages welcome!

Date: Tuesday, April 22
Time: 12:00pm* - about 2:00pm
optional swimming & hiking time until 4:00pm
Location: Turkey Creek Nature Preserve                     3906 Turkey Creek Road, Pinson, Alabama 35126

*TCNP is closed to the public on Tuesdays, and the gate will be locked at 12:30pm. Please arrive before 12:30, or you will not be able to get in.
