Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

July & August, Trussville: College Prep Classes

Foundations, a ministry which provides affordable, quality, college-preparatory classes to homeschool children in a Christian setting, has opened up registration for the 2014-2015 school year.  I am excited to share that we have a new location:  Spring Valley Baptist Church’s Education Building #1 and #3.  We are offering the following classes:  English for grades 7-12, U.S. History (7-8th grade), Geography & Alabama History, World History, Government & Economics, Pre-Algebra through Pre-calculus, General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology as well as Spanish I and II.  Register by the end of June to avoid late fees.  If you are interested, please contact Heather Harkins 661-9174 orhharkins@centurytel.net.

This camp is for students (6th -12 grade) and is a fast-paced public speaking course that will help your student become a powerful communicator.  Speeches will be graded, and camp can be counted as a ½ credit elective for high school students.

This workshop is for parents and will show you how to teach writing with sound structure and style,
starting with outlining and rewriting a paragraph
and progressing through essays and research papers.
All nine models of IEW will be covered .

Only snacks and drinks will be provided. 
However, there are several restaurants close by for lunch
or you are welcome to bring your own sack lunch.
