Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Cost: $150 for one child and guardian
A class for parents and children to enjoy making music together.  Families will learn fun, easy, songs paired with simple movements to increase your child’s motor skills, physical development and can be incorporated in your daily routine.
Musical Theatre II
Ages 12-16
September 4-  November 20
Thursdays 5:00 – 6:00 pm
Teaching Artist: Red Mountain Theatre Company
Cost: $150
Students will learn musical theatre  technique including basic acting, song interpretation, learning music, dance steps and staging directions. Monologues, scene work, music from the musical theatre repertoire, theatre games, and exercises will be utilized as well.  Class will culminate in a showcase demonstrating all techniques learned and is open to all parents and friends.
Math Art:  “See Me Try Symmetry and More”
Ages 7-12

Cost: $75
Prepare to take the artist within to a new dimension.  Create math art inspired by playing with numbers, geometric shapes, math tiles and more! Learn about famous works and master artists through history who have combined math and art.
Sculpture and Art Installation for Teens
Ages 13 – 18

Students will spend their weeks creating 3-D works and art installations using found and everyday objects.
The Absolutely True Story of My Life Thus Far: Creative Nonfiction

Everyone has a story to tell!  Learn how to wirte about your personal experiences in a way that engages and entertains others.  Express yourself and explore personal narratives with techniques from creative nonfiction.
Rhythm and Moves
Ages 16 – Adult

Teaching Artist: Ashley Booker

This fun and unconventional adult dance class will contain a colorful blend of styles influenced by street dance, new style and popular music.  Lively choreography will be taught during each class, then danced a few times through with all the style and flavor you can muster!
Fabric Art: Creating with Textiles
September 3 – October 15
Thursdays 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Teaching Artist: Michelle Reynolds
Cost $125
Find inspiration in your surrounding, develop ideas and learn the art of telling a story with color, pattern, and texture using applique techniques with fabric.  Design, cut, layer and stitch to make a multi-layered fabric collage.  Fabric and supplies will be provided.
The Courageous Performer

DIY Recording Studio

The DIY Recording class will focus on maki
Cost $200ng the very best recordings with whatever equipment you have!  A program on a phone or tablet, a laptop or even an old cassette deck will do!  Each student will be able to bring in the setup and learn the most efficient way to obtain the very best studio recording possible.
