Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

ArtBreak / Swords of the Samurai / Tuesday, July 29 / Noon / FREE, must purchase Lethal Beauty ticket / This 30-minute ArtBreak will be led by Japanese sword specialist Ray Deadman. Ray will discuss and give a tour of the swords in Lethal Beauty. You must buy a ticket to the exhibition to attend ($10 for non-members, free for members).

Japanese Film Festival / August 7-10 / FREE / Explore Japanese culture through film with professors from Birmingham-Southern College and UAB. Enjoy the films then participate in a Q&A session with professors after. See the list of films and times here
BMA Speaks: Samurai / Friday, August 8 / 8PM / FREE / In the death poem, or jisei, one reflects on the final moments of life in many ways - with meaning, solemnity, and even humor. All forms of poetry are welcome! Learn more on our website
