Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Homewood: Homeschool Park Day

Please note that the info below is for the 2015/2016 school year.
Homewood Homeschool Park Days

Come join us for some fun at Homewood Central Park. We will meet once a month from 1 to 3 for the months of September, October, November, March, April, and May (weather permitting). This is a great park with a playground for younger kids, a big grass area as well as an amphitheater. Bring a ball or Frisbee to toss, some bubbles to blow, RC cars to roam or a sketch pad to doodle :) There are pavilions so we are going to bring a couple of board games and cards to play as well. Feel free to bring a game or your favorite hobby to share. Bikes, skate boards, scooters, and ripstiks are all welcome here. This park has a little bit of everything so it is great for the whole family!

Homewood Central Park is located adjacent to the Homewood Community Center. Some of the amenities available in the park are six pavilions with picnic tables, two tennis courts, amphitheater, large playground, cement walking paths and open green space.
