We are now accepting applications for Peace Birmingham!
Peace Birmingham is a social justice program for high school students from different cultures and faiths that meets once a month to learn about the differences and similarities that intertwine cultural and religious lines. Our goal is to create doors through which we can enter each other’s communities to nurture and sustain a Birmingham that values and welcomes people of different race, religion, creed, nationality, school, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, ability and cultural background.
Peace Birmingham meetings are held once a month on a Sunday at the YWCA. More information about meeting dates will be provided at the first meeting on Sunday, September 28th. This year in addition to interactive social justice workshops, Peace will host a lock-in and a trip! Apply today!
Applications can be found on our website at http://www.ywcabham.org/page/ stand-against-racism. I have also attached an application to this email. Applications are due Monday, September 15th.
Please forward to all 9th-12th grade students who may be interested. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
