Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Cullman: Homeschool Jr. Master Gardener Program

Hi, All,

The Agriplex is excited to host a new Junior Master Gardener 4H club starting in 2015.  We are still working out the details, but plan to meet two Thursdays a month starting in January from 9:00-11:00.  We will probably take a break for a few summer months, then finish by November.  This is tentative.

The classes will be for Kindergarten and up with two different groups.  The elementary class will run from k-5, and the secondary class 6th grade and up.  We will cap the classes at 20 each.  The Agriplex will provide the garden beds, VISTA Abigail McClellan will serve as adviser, the supplies you need, but we do want parents to help lead the classes.  It is an easy curriculum to lead.

For k-5 students the fee is $35 per child for the year- includes workbook and handbook
For 6th and up- $20, includes workbook
If parents want a leader guide it is $42 for 390 pg book, but you can lead without this book.

Dates to know: registration and money due by Dec. 4.  You can mail forms and checks to :

Cullman, AL  35056

We need a form per child.

Thursday, Dec 11 9:00-10:00, JMG Parent meeting- This will be a parent meeting, but we will have a movie showing for kids to watch while they wait.  This will be an informational and organizational meeting.  Cullman JMG Supervisor Cynthia Tubbs will lead an orientation meeting for volunteer leaders, and we will plan the 2015 schedule.

We are excited about this 4H club, please let us know if you have any questions!
