Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Nov. 24, Hayden: Mount High Volunteer Fire Department Explorer Program

All students with an interest in Fire Service and EMS:

The Mount High Volunteer Fire Department would like to invite students who live in the Mount High, Ricetown and Hayden area to join us for our Open House on Monday, November 24th to find out more about our Fire and Emergency Service Explorer Post.

Exploring is an opportunity for young men and women ages 15-20 (14 if you are already in the 9th grade) to get a hands-on, behind the scenes look at what is involved in a Fire Service career. You’ll take part in training alongside current firefighters, and learn valuable life skills like teamwork and leadership. You’ll serve your community while preparing for your future.

We hope you’ll join us on November 24th from 6 to 6:45 p.m. We will meet at the Mount High Fire Station located at 1777 Skyline Drive – at the corner of Skyline Drive and Oscar Bradford Road. You can help us plan for our First Nighter by calling Post Advisor Bob Sanford (205) 276-4469 or e-mail little690@gmail.com to let us know that you plan to attend. The enrollment fee for Exploring is only $24 for the year. Bring along friends who might be interested, and your parents are welcome to join us.
