Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

June & July, GA, CA, & TX: 3-Day Economics Summer Seminar

Hi! I’m a homeschool mom of two teens and just found out about a really cool opportunity for bright teens to participate in a 3-day economics seminar this summer. I know how hard it is to find quality events for homeschool teens so I wanted to pass this along to homeschoolers before they did their big campaign promoting these seminars to the public. I can’t imagine availability will last long since there is no charge for tuition, room/board, and food. We’ve applied to the Rome,GA seminar, but there are also seminars in CA and TX. You can also apply for a transportation scholarship. It’s a non-profit and the reviews from past years are wonderful! My contact, Sara, loves homeschoolers and said she is happy to answer any questions. Her email is smorrison@fee.org. I’ve included the information below. Good luck! ~Marianna/Atlanta,GA
