Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

This event is open to all homeschoolers, regardless of cover school as well as grandparents who like to camp!
There will be homeschoolers of all ages, even teens!

What do I need?
You will need to have camping gear of your own
First time campers are always welcome!

What else do I need to know?

It IS safe for just moms and kids here, especially with a group. There are double gates at night both with changing codes, there are campground hosts as well who live in their campers there at the campground and who can help in an emergency.

Everyone needs to wear shoes when not at their own campsite. Closed-toed preferred, but slip-ons are fine if it's a quick trip.
I expect everyone to follow the rules of the park, which can be found at the link above as well as other info about what is available at the campground.
I also expect respect-for your fellow campers and the plants and animals that call the park home.

Any questions can be sent to me at roamschool@gmail.com or via Facebook messenger .

RSVP at the above e-mail address by Friday, May 1st.

This event is sponsored by Everest Academy but open to all homeschoolers.  Please review the Everest Academy Participation Policy before attending any of our events.
