Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

HabaDub.com: Opportunity for Homeschool High Schoolers to Have Articles Published

Hey Deb, need to put out a call for more homeschool writers please. Great chance for kids to get their names in a real online publication (instead of a forum somewhere) and work with a real live editor. This year I can offer payment as well for accepted stories. Small payment, but payment.

~~~ Hubadub.com is looking for reviews of cheap/inexpensive makeup. We need 300+ word articles about specific low cost cosmetics. Similar to one of our popular articles: http://hubadub.com/best-cheap-makeup-brands-nyx-cosmetics-review/ except focusing on single category of items out of a line instead of an entire line (blush or lipstick for example). The goal of the article series is to help people find the best low cost cosmetics.
Article ideas should be submitted (just a few sentences about what you want to write about) to liz@ hubadub.com or lizmasoner@ gmail.com (spaces added in email addresses to stop the robots, just delete spaces before emailing). If approved, we are currently offering $15 per published article, payable through PayPal within 30 days of publication. If approved, you also have the option (not required) of creating a brief blurb about yourself that will be added to the bottom of the article as the author. PLEASE run this information past your parents first.
Hubadub loves working with young writers as we were once young writers ourselves and some of us currently homeschool our own children. You'll be working with a real editor with decades in the writing biz if you article idea(s) are accepted. This means that you may be requested to make some changes to your article before publication. Our goal is to teach you about creating great content as much as it is to publish great content.
Info about Hubadub:
Hubadub.com is a general interest family online magazine covering travel, crafts, photography, hobbies, recipes, TV, and more.
I'd like to offer homeschoolers in high school the opportunity to pitch an article or series of articles for publication on Hubadub.com. No pay at the moment but if we accept the pitch/article it is a byline for portfolios and if they gain a following (social media shares, lots of page views on the site, etc) there is a shot for possible paid articles in the future.
In the meantime, they get a byline and a chance to learn to deal with deadlines and editorial changes/requests along with copyright guidance when needed.
Broad topics we'd like to discuss articles on are: Video game walkthroughs/tips/tricks/reviews App reviews Social media reviews Makeup reviews and tips Recipes Summer vacation travel (reviews, idea lists, etc) Other topics will be considered
To pitch, we need an email to liz@hubadub.com Pitches should be at least 5 or 6 sentences about your topic and what you plan to cover.
Finished articles will need to be at least 350 words long and include applicable photos/screenshots. Any photos that are not original and screenshots will need copyright information noted. If pitches are successful we will help them figure out the visuals.
