Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

May 29, Elkmont: Belle Chevre Field Trip

Belle Chevre Tour
Friday, May 29th
10:00 a.m.
18849 Upper Fort Hampton Rd
Elkmont, AL 35620

The cost will be $12 for adults and $8 for kids ages five and up (4 and under are free).

I need to know how many adults and how many students are in your group.

They will provide a sack lunch for the children for $13. Let me know if you want the lunch as it must be requested ahead of time.

The tour will be about two hours long. One hour for the tour itself and maybe another hour to let the kids play games (not sure what that entails probably just run around etc) and walk the trails.

For more info on Belle Chevre.

Description of tour from website:

In 2013, Belle Chevre renovated an old cotton warehouse in the heart of downtown Elkmont, Alabama into a beautiful, artisan goat cheese creamery. For over 100 years, this building has been the heartbeat of Elkmont, formerly a storage warehouse for cotton to be shipped on the adjacent railroad (now the Richard Martin Rails to Trails.)

Tours include:
A peek into cheesemaking
Belle Chevre History
Goat Petting and Visiting
Access to The Richard Martin Rails to Trails
Tastings/Samples at a Tasting Bar
9 minute Documentary Film

Please email darlakhicks@comcast.net if you would like to attend. Thanks!
