Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Summer: Huntsville, Cullman, Bham, Montgomery, Auburn: Volunteers Needed for Farmer's Market Gleaning

We glean farmers market throughout the summer recovering locally grown, fresh fruit and vegetables that will not remain fresh enough for the next market. We need volunteers to help us with the gleaning. It usually takes about 2 hours and we have a very simple procedure for collecting and documenting the process. Below is a you tube video about Pepper Place Farmers Market in Birmingham. It tells the process we use. We glean farmers markets in multiple cities across Alabama and we are looking for volunteers for each of these markets. Most markets open in May. Below is a list of locations of the markets where we need volunteers. Could you please share this need with your families? This is a great way to get involved with Society of St. Andrew and make a difference for your community.
Thanks so much!
