Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

Our Test Prep Course is a comprehensive review of the math and science skills required for the ACT.   Students will learn effective strategies and approaches to optimize their test scores in the math and sciences, and most importantly review problematic topics in both subjects.
Our instructor for this course, Tyson Hoffmann, has an extensive background in math and science, and is a methodical and in-depth teacher.   His unique philosophy of teaching will not only review the math and science skills needed for the ACT, but he will also help students learn to think and solve problems, as required on all higher level standardized tests in math and science.
Homework and review will average 1-3 hours per week, depending on the student’s needs; some supplemental work will be optional. Practice will be taken at home and reviewed by the instructor to aid in instruction.
Prerequisites:
Recommended for sophomore students or older who are preparing to take the ACT during the 2015-2016 academic year or summer of 2016.  Younger students who have completed most math requirements for ACT are also welcome.
