Morning Deb Spradlin,
My name is Chelsea Tucker and I work at the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA), a part of UAB. I found the Everest website online and noticed you had a section for art appreciation.
I wanted to make you all aware of our resources so you could share them with your students and families. We have two exhibitions on display until November 14 and entrance is always free.
Exhibition 1. The Right to Decide, International Poster Invitational: http://www.uab.edu/cas/aeiva/ current-exhibitions/164-the- right-to-decide
Exhibition 2. David Maisel/Black Maps: American Landscape and the Apocalyptic Sublime: http://www.uab.edu/cas/aeiva/ current-exhibitions/166-david- maisel-black-maps
I also want to inform you about a free, public lecture that will take place here at AEIVA on Oct 15, at 6:30 pm, by Dr. Melinda Barlow from the University of Colorado. Her lecture is titled “The Scale of Imagination: David Maisel and the American Sublime.” More information can be found here:http://www.uab.edu/cas/aeiva/ upcoming-events/168-the-scale- of-imagination-david-maisel- and-the-american-sublime
Our hours are Monday through Friday, 10am-6pm, and Saturday 12pm-6pm. Our address: 1221 10th Ave S, Birmingham AL, 35205.
We would welcome a visit from any interested individuals or groups, and we are always free.
For more information, please don’t hesitate to reply to this email.
Thanks!
