Everest Academy is a ministry of Everest Family Church in Hayden. We offer freedom along with quality resources, information, activities and support to those homeschooling in Alabama. We believe that the parent has the best interests of their children at heart. We believe that the parent is the first and only teacher that a child needs. In keeping with this philosophy, we wish to be a very hands-off church "cover" school and allow the parent to lead and guide their children in the direction and at the pace they feel is best suited to their children. We ask only for what the law requires while offering support along with quality resources to aid families in their efforts.

NOTE: Although there is no minimum age for this field trip, I recommend that preschoolers only attend with older siblings.   The tour is geared for school-age children.   I hope to have enough students to split into 2 groups by age (approx K-5th & 6th-12th)
This 1860s living history student day will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015. It's a field trip filled with Alabama history. There will be 8-10 exhibits sharing histories of toys, music and dancing, medical practices, spinning, camp life, blacksmith, and the ever popular artillery cannon among other exhibits.
The program will last for approximately 2 hours.  Each group of students will be assigned a guide to ensure movement from exhibit to exhibit.  Each exhibit will have a presenter sharing their knowledge with the students on their level.
Lunch will be offered through a local vendor for about $5 on site or you are welcome to bring your own and eat it under the shade trees on the grounds.
This field trip is sponsored by Everest Academy but open to all homeschoolers. Please review the Everest Academy Participation Policy before attending any of our events.
