I just wanted to clarify that you do NOT have to be a Hoover resident to be a part of the homeschool composite team. We are just sharing coaches/resources with the Hoover team.
We are spreading the word about High School Mountain Biking.
This is the second year of NICA in Alabama. The National Interscholastic Cycling Association sponsors Alabama High School Mountain Biking. Check out the website http://www.alabamamtb.org/
The league is composed of teams from around the state. Most teams are high schools or composite teams. Composite teams are areas that do not have enough riders from one school to form a team. We are hoping to form a composite homeschool team. Experienced or beginner riders from grades 7th-12th and from any cover school are welcome. The riders will represent the homeschool composite team not a particular cover school. If there are enough riders a cover school could have their own team.
Being a composite team, they are allowed to share resources with a larger team. The coaches, who are excellent, are from the Hoover High School team. The homeschool team will count as a separate team, but will train and share coaching resources with Hoover High School.
For more information concerning the homeschool team please read the attached document.
Please let me know if you have any questions. The contact information for the coaches is on the attachment. They will also be happy to answer any questions.
Thank you for your time,
Holley Meredith
